Scrapbooking
What is scrapbooking?

A scrapbook is essentially a decorated photo album. What makes it different from an ordinary photo album is the way it preserves much more than just your photos. A scrapbook tells the story behind the images and can include personal memorabilia, such as tickets, certificates, letters and so on. You might have a family album as well as a smaller theme album for holidays, hobbies or a baby’s first months.
Scrapbooking made easy
Stability is one of the determining factors when choosing the most suitable material and equipment to create your own scrapbook. Inkjet photo printing gives you the flexibility to produce your images whenever you need them, at different sizes and at different locations if you need to. You not only have the choice between printers that offer different print sizes but also different ink technologies.
If you want to achieve the highest possible lightfastness and image stability for your scrapbook, we recommend one of our models using Ultrachrome pigment or Claria photographic inks. Both types of ink fulfill the needs of scrapbooking and offer the highest quality for photo printing.
Keep in mind that stability is not only a question of the printer and ink you use, but also the paper you print on. To get the best results every time we recommend you always use genuine Epson media.
Choose the technology that suits you
Each scrapbook you produce may have its own style, and there are different ways you can produce your scrapbook. You can either print your images at different sizes and glue them into the album pages, or you can produce a complete album digitally and print it.
The Epson PictureMate PM290
One option for producing your scrapbook is to use a product from the PictureMate series. These are small, lightweight, mobile and can print your images up to 4x6 inch on high quality photo paper. If you prefer to be more flexible in print size you might want to go for an A4 photo printer that allows you to print up to full A4 size photos without borders. You can of course still print at smaller sizes if you wish.
Recommended printers:
Printer 4x6: PictureMate PM260 / PictureMate PM290
Printer A4: Stylus Photo RX685 / Stylus Photo R285
Printer A3: Stylus Photo R2400 / Stylus Photo 1400
All-in-one printers

The Epson RX685
If you want to be fully flexible and more creative e.g. scan images for personalised backgrounds, or restore old and faded or damaged photos - you need a scanner, or an all-in-one. All Epson scanners that include Photo in the name allow you to scan both film and paper. If you want to save space and have three products in one, you should look at the Epson range of all-in-ones. These have a printer, scanner and copier combined in one unit.
If you are an advanced user and want to digitize your conventional photo archive we recommend a standalone scanner.
All-in-one recommended product: Stylus Photo RX685
Recommended scanner: Perfection V500 / V350
